Just Do It!®"The difference between a successful person and others One of the most famous advertising slogans of the last century is Nike’s trademarked mantra, Just Do It! Part of the lasting popularity of this slogan is that so many of us have one or more important things that we need to get on with... that we need to Just Do It! As we close in on the half way point in the calendar year, many of us are far behind half way on some of our New Year’s Resolutions. Some of us need to Just Do It! Just the other night, I had dinner with one of the most talented individuals I know. I was saddened to hear how much difficulty he was having in getting himself repositioned to better use his awesome talents. Like we so often do, he had more excuses than Carter had liver oil pills. And as so often the case with the library of self help books that many of us have accumulated, my friend began a robust self diagnosis of which fear was holding him back. Was it fear of failure... or fear of success... or some other fear? The more I listened, the more I saw elements of my own shortcomings come into clear focus. The more I encouraged him to Just Do It!, the more I realized that the Divine Power was once again sending me a valuable lesson. Life is so often a mirror! Those of us who can see this newsletter are blessed, especially compared to those who are blind. Those of us who can read this issue are likewise blessed, especially compared to the millions in the world who are illiterate. And, those of us who can comprehend this issue are truly blessed. To be the best that we can be with the awesome blessings bestowed upon us often requires change. For some, the change will be so traumatic that they need psychological counseling. Others will need a strong group therapy program, or alternatively a personal coach. For many of us, the time has come to Just Do It! I hope that you will join me in making June a month that we will Just Do It with respect to something important in our life. Still not ready to go make it happen? Then, watch this short but so, so powerful video of one man overcoming his obstacles which make ours pale by comparison. Or, read my prescription for making it happen. If you do make it happen, I would love to hear what you did get accomplished. Please drop me a note.
Just imagine if every person did even one act of kindness every day. At Quantum Leap Strategies, we are trying to start a wave of kindness that circles the globe and leads to more peace in the world. Register your act of kindness in our Kindness Journal. Every month, we select one act of kindness to feature in this newsletter. This month's selection: Share your umbrella with someone who is caught out in the rain. Literally and figuratively what a simple, but powerful, thought. Congratulations to Nancy Bishop who wins a Kindness Wave T-shirt and Wayne Dyer's CD "101 Ways to Transform Your Life" for her thoughtful kindness. Of course, everyone who did an act of kindness is a winner. Thanks to all for helping start a wave of kindness from our site. Another way to make someone's day is to send one of our free inspirational eCards.
