Accelerating with Passionate Purpose

"Authentic empowerment is the knowing that you are on purpose,
doing God's work, peacefully and harmoniously."
~Dr. Wayne Dyer~

One of the most famous advertising slogans of the last century is Nike's trademarked mantra, Just Do It! Part of the lasting popularity of this slogan is that so many of us have one or more important things that we need to get on with... that we need to Just Do It!

As we close in on the half way point in the calendar year, many of us are far behind half way on some of our New Year’s Resolutions. Some of us need to Just Do It!

Just the other night, I had dinner with one of the most talented individuals I know. I was saddened to hear how much difficulty he was having in getting himself repositioned to better use his awesome talents. Like we so often do, he had more excuses than Carter had liver oil pills. And as so often the case with the library of self help books that many of us have accumulated, my friend began a robust self diagnosis of which fear was holding him back. Was it fear of failure... or fear of success... or some other fear?

The more I listened, the more I saw elements of my own shortcomings come into clear focus. The more I encouraged him to Just Do It!, the more I realized that the Divine Power was once again sending me a valuable lesson. Life is so often a mirror!

Those of us who can see this newsletter are blessed, especially compared to those who are blind. Those of us who can read this issue are likewise blessed, especially compared to the millions in the world who are illiterate. And, those of us who can comprehend this issue are truly blessed.

To be the best that we can be with the awesome blessings bestowed upon us often requires change. For some, the change will be so traumatic that they need psychiatric treatment. Others will need a strong counseling program, or alternatively a personal coach. For many of us, the time has come to Just Do It!

I hope that you will join me in making June a month that we will Just Do It with respect to something important in our life. Still not ready to go make it happen? Then, watch this short but so, so powerful video of one man overcoming his obstacles which make ours pale by comparison. Or, read my prescription for making it happen.

If you do make it happen, I would love to hear what you did get accomplished. Please drop me a note.

Recommended Act of Kindness

Regretfully, hostility, rudeness and the like seem to increasingly becoming the norm in our fast paced world. Sometimes it seems like peace, courtesy, kindness and the like are losing the battle as to what will be the way we live.

Well, I – for one – have decided to cast a vote for a life of peace and harmony. And, perhaps I am naïve, but I choose to believe that each of us can make a difference by the manner in which we personally conduct our lives. And, if enough of us choose to conduct our lives with respect, courtesy and kindness for others, we just may be able to keep the forces of disharmony from becoming the norm.

So, I have decided to start a wave of kindness that will hopefully circle the globe and lead to more peace and harmony in the world. The starting point will be the Kindness Journal where I invite you to register a kind act you have recently performed. Just imagine if every person did even one act of kindness every day. The impact would be phenomenal. So, I encourage you to register some of your acts of kindness as an inspiration for others to join our wave.

To add a little fun to our collective effort, every month we will select one act of kindness to publish in this newsletter. The author of the selected act of kindness wins a Quantum Leap hat and Wayne Dyer's CD "101 Ways to Transform Your Life." Of course, everyone who does an act of kindness are the real winners.

Help us build the wave by submitting your act of kindness to the Kindness Journal.
